The Deaconess Ministry of the Cedar Landing Missionary Baptist Church is honored to be the planning committee for such a momentous occasion, The 150th Church Anniversary. It gives us the opportunity to be grateful for the under shepherd that God has sent to “This Place” to lead us from earth to heaven. At the same time, it allows us to reflect on the structure of “This Place” through the work of those who have gone on before us. More importantly, it prompts us to see the urgency of how to stay in the service of God. For this reason, we decided to re-create an updated version on the backs of those who composed a similar journal over a decade ago.

 

We are especially thankful to each of you who shared, supported and made this effort a success. We knew the task would not be easy, but through perseverance and faith in God we made it.

 

So God, we thank you for the spiritual knowledge and wisdom of those who were before us; we now thank you for the keeping power that is guiding us today, and it is our continued prayer as we dedicate this journal to our descendants, to be a guiding tool in their spiritual growth to carry on…… A Charge to Keep We Have.
