Communication Ministry History
Throughout his pastoral leadership at Cedar Landing, Pastor Barnes has maintained the idea that a communication ministry is important to the church. It is his belief that media can reach the congregation and our community in order to inform, inspire and invite participation in the mission and purpose of the church. Cedar Landing Records provides documentation of three News Letter publications; The Cedar Landing Connection News Letter during 1998; Co-Editors Sister Nancy Wilson and Sister Gail P. Wilson, Reporters were Denise Williams, Christy Wilson, Gloria Gilliam and Muriel Hoggard. The Cedar Landing Trumpet in 2005 and The Cedar Landing Baptist Church News Letter during 2015 through the present. It is believed that there were others however no documentation was available.

This Mother and Daughter duo prepares and maintains our church calendars, disseminates church information by telephone, text messaging and email, publishes our monthly newsletter, maintains media equipment, meets the printing needs of the church and willingly assists with any other communication needs upon request and as necessary.
Member of the Month
In 2009, Pastor Barnes envisioned that we should acknowledge the services and accomplishments of a Cedar Landing member each month. The member is selected at random, interviewed by Tiffanie Cherry following which she writes a short biography of his or her life and presents it to the church during regular morning service. The member is then honored with the presentation of a certificate on behalf of the church.
