Rev. E.C. Watson Memorial Library Ministry

 

The E.C. Watson Memorial Library Ministry was initially organized in March, 1995 and reorganized in January 1996.

 

The Library was dedicated in May, 1996 and named in memory of the late Rev. Dr. Eugene C. Watson, who was a member of and had served as Interim Pastor at Cedar Landing Missionary Baptist Church. The purpose of the Church Library was based upon a concern Rev. Watson had about helping people improve their lives, both religiously and educationally, and to be the church’s support in furnishing and encouraging the use of instruction, information and inspiration.

 

The library has a variety of titles, subjects, and reference works in book, video and cassette formats, including special audio tapes of Pastor Shelton R. Barnes’ sermons from Sunday morning worship services.  There is also a special children’s section for very young readers.

 

The library is open each Sunday following worship services, and is staffed by members of the ministry along with its youth members. They are available to assist in checking out library materials. To keep our listings updated, we seek the support of our church family by asking members to donate new or gently used materials, or to make a donation for new materials to be purchased.

 

The members of the E. C. Watson Memorial Library Ministry would like to thank our Pastor and Advisor, Rev. Shelton Barnes, for his prayers and guidance, and our church family for your ongoing support in keeping our church library functioning.
