Cedar Landing Missionary Baptist Church Youth Ministry History
In 1996, under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Barnes, Sister Kertrina Watson became the Advisor and President of the Youth Forum. It received its name because it was founded to inform. Its purpose was to promote etiquette, living harmoniously and socially, one with another.
In 2000, the Youth Forum advisors were Ernestine Byrd, Jerry Pugh, and Eloise Lucas. The officers were: Denise Williams, Jessica Barnes, and Toria Cherry. Since 2004, Deaconess Denise Nicholson has served as advisor and Ashley Speller and Bridgett Speller as presidents. The Youth Ministry is currently being advised by Minister Ashley Speller Bradley and Donald Swain, President.
The Bible charged adults to train a child. Here at CLMBC, the Lord has blessed the Youth Ministry to do many wonderful activities within our church and community. We have traveled to Raleigh to the State Fair, Museums, Washington, DC, and a host of other adventures.
During the holidays, we have proclaim the good news in the nursing homes and homeless shelters since our inception.
We are Ministry after God’s own heart. We are visible in the vineyard because we understand that there is much work to be done.
